Carley Edward Davidson, 87, of Lexington, Missouri passed away on Tuesday, May 2, 2023, at home surrounded by family.

 

A Celebration of Life will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, May 13, 2023, at the First Baptist Church, 525 S. Bus. Hwy. 13, Lexington, MO, 64067.  Inurnment will be in Lexington Memory Gardens.  Memorials are suggested to the Lexington Clothes Closet or the First Baptist Church.  Memories of Carley and condolences for his family may be left at www.LedfordFamilyFH.com or on our Facebook Page.  Arrangements have been entrusted to the Walker-Nadler-Fuller Funeral Home, 1720 S. Carley was born on March 28, 1936, in Lexington, Missouri to Roy and Bertha (Neece) Davidson.  On May 17, 1958, Carley was united in marriage to Shelba Jean Rucker in Lexington.  He retired in 1998 after 36 years of service from AGCO formerly known as Allis-Chalmers.  Carley was a member of the First Baptist Church, Moose Lodge, and Tribe Mic-O-Say.  He also spent many hours volunteering for the Clothes Closet, the Margaret Gray Center, delivering Meals On Wheels, and officiating church services at Riverbend Heights Nursing Home.  In addition to spending time with his family and friends, Carley enjoyed fishing, gardening, hunting, and caring for his yard. 

 

Carley is survived by his wife of 65 years, Shelba Davidson, of Lexington, MO; three children, Diana Winters of Independence, MO, Kenny Davidson of Lexington, MO, and Vonda Love of Roach, MO; seven grandchildren, Jason Lewis (Erin), Amanda Neffendorf (Trent), Thomas Davidson (Kayla), Rachel Irvine (Jerry), Brier Davidson, Kayla Gray (Eric), and Allie Love (Marissa); 15 great grandchildren; and five great great grandchildren; two sisters, Myrtle Burns of Higginsville, MO and Beverly Corum of Lexington, MO; and many nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.

 

Carley was preceded in death by his father, Roy Davidson; his mother, Bertha Huffman; a sister, Viola Mallot; and a brother, Alonzo “Lonnie” Davidson.
