Bonnie Dean (Hedges) Asher, 87 of Odessa, Missouri passed away on Wednesday, October 31, 2018 at the Shangri-La Rehab & Living Center in Blue Springs, MO.
Visitation will be held from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., Sunday, November 4, 2018 at the First Baptist Church, 100 W. Hwy OO, Odessa, MO, 64076. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Monday November 5, 2018 at the First Baptist Church. Burial will be in the Blue Springs Cemetery in Blue Springs, MO. Bonnie was born on July 14, 1931 in Independence, MO to Leo and Helen (Smith) Hedges. She married John Leslie Asher on July 22, 1951 in Independence, MO. Bonnie submitted her life to Christ at 14 years old and has been a faithful follower since that time. She was a dedicated volunteer and served in many leadership roles serving her community, family and church. She was a Cub Scout Den Mother, Room Mother, PTA President, Church Youth Leader, Sunday School Teacher, Vacation Bible School Director, Choir member, Church soloist, President of Church Women United, County Extension Club President, and always a faithful wife and mother raising her seven children. Bonnie used her gift and love for hospitality to welcome people into their home whether it be family gatherings, holidays, hayrides, wild game dinners, or providing a place to live for other families in need.
Bonnie is survived by her husband John Asher of Odessa; seven children, Mike Asher and wife Janet of Greenwood, MO; David Asher and wife Jill of Mound City, MO, Dan Asher and wife Trixie of Odessa, MO, Paul Asher and wife Kandis of Warrensburg, MO, Tim Asher and wife Lesley of Odessa, MO, Tom Asher and wife Carolyn of Odessa, MO and Julie Lee of Cleburne, Texas; 26 grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Bonnie was preceded in death by two brothers, Bob and Bill Hedges.
