Barbie Ann Daum

June 24, 1964 — December 18, 2025

Grain Valley, Missouri

Barbie Ann Daum, 61, of Grain Valley, MO passed away in hospice on December 18, 2025 ending her three year battle with breast cancer.

After attending Lexington High School, she completed her degree in Computer Systems at DeVry University. Barbie then worked for 19 years as an IT professional with one of the largest law firms in Kansas City.

As the daughter of a country singer who was also an Air Force veteran, Barbie loved her “Daddy”, Country Music, and the USA. (in that order)

She was active in The American Legion, hosting Kareoke at Post #499 in Blue Springs for over a decade. As a patriot, she took pride in hosting the Legion’s annual 4th of July picnic.

Her “Daddy” was the only person who could call her on the phone when the Chiefs were playing, and heaven help anyone who ever called her “Barbara”. She would immediately correct them with “it’s Barbie not Barbara”using a tone that made it clear that she was NOT joking.

Preceded in death by her Mother Eveleen Anson Daum of Lexington, MO and Stepmother Jane Rhodes Daum of Batesville, AR.

She is survived by William Daum Sr of Batesville, AR (father), Terry Daum Wentland of Higginsville (sister), Douglas Daum of Louisville, KY (brother), and William Daum Jr of St Louis (brother)

Barbie requested that there be no funeral service. Her cremated remains are to be scattered at her favorite place by her family.

In lieu of flowers, friends can make a donation in her honor to The Susan G. Komen Foundation at www.komen.org
