Barbara Louise Chadwick

Barbara Louise (Curtis) Chadwick, 84, of Odessa, Missouri, passed away on May 5, 2025, at Carmel Hills Health and Rehabilitation in Independence, Missouri.

Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, May 13, 2025, at Ralph O. Jones Funeral Home, 306 South Second Street, Odessa, MO 64076, 816-633-5524. A funeral service will follow at 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, May 13,2025 at the funeral home. Memorials are suggested to The Heart of America Alzheimer’s Association. Barbara was born April 16, 1941, in Lansing, Michigan to Harold and Berneita (Greenhoe) Curtis. She graduated in 1959 from Charlotte High School in Charlotte, MI. Barbara was united in marriage to Emery “Gene” Eugene Chadwick on June 12, 1959, in Charlotte, MI. Barbara loved quilting, collecting Department 56 ceramic houses and teapots. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends most of all.

Barbara is survived by her loving husband of 65 years, Gene Chadwick of Odessa, MO; two children; Robert “Bob” Chadwick of Independence, MO, Karen Lee Chadwick and husband Scott Medlock of Odessa, MO; two grandchildren, Powell Alexander Chadwick Medlock and Reagan Elizabethann Chadwick Medlock, both of Odessa, MO; two sisters, Gail Lee Corfman of New Castle, Wyoming, Carole June Graham of Stevensville, MI; one brother, Jack Duane Curtis of Lansing, MI; and many nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.

In addition to her parents, Barbara, was preceded in death by a sister, Martha Merideth and one brother, David Sylvester Curtis.
