Timothy M. Lawhead

Timothy M. Lawhead, 67, of Fort Wayne, passed away on February 12, 2022. Born on January 16, 1955, in Indianapolis, he was a son of the late Oliver and Shirley (Trittipo) Lawhead.

Visitation will be held from 2:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Friday, March 4, 2022, at the Raytown Christian Church, 6108 Blue Ridge Blvd., Raytown, MO, 64133, 816-353-1708. Funeral Services will be held at 7:00 p.m., Friday, March 4, 2022, at the church. Graveside services will be at 12:00 p.m., Saturday, March 5, 2022, at Richmond Memory Gardens, Richmond, MO. Timothy is survived by his children, Elizabeth (William) Phillips, Nicholas Spencer, Meredith (Nathaniel) Seigler, Stephanie (Ashley) Spencer, Landon Lawhead, Lauren (Jordan) Owen, and Sydney Lawhead; grandkids, Abigale, and Kellan Seigler; former spouse Sheila (Faurote) Lawhead; brothers, Jerry (Melodie) Lawhead, and Lee (Nancy) Lawhead; as well as several nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. He was preceded in death by his children, Michael, and Aubra Lawhead; wife Lana (Simonetti) Lawhead; and sister, Sandy Lawhead.

Timothy lived to experience life to its fullest and loved immeasurably. He grew up in Raytown, Missouri, and participated in activities such as boy scouts and sports and loved spending time outdoors. Timothy graduated with his BA in Landscape Architecture from Mizzou of Columbia, and later got his MS in Engineering from Purdue University. He retired from General Motors after working there over 30 years. Timothy was an avid musician, artist, carpenter, poet, and very talented crafter of Native American regalia. He never met a skill he couldn’t acquire. Ultimately, he was most dedicated to his family. Timothy enjoyed spending time attending band, color guard, choir, and dance competitions. He was also heavily involved with coaching soccer, and leading scouts. Timothy always made sure his kids had a plethora of experiences and memories. He dedicated years of his life engaged with Native American traditions and culture. Timothy actively donated to various charities focused on the wellbeing of children, breast cancer research, and various Native American foundations. Despite knowing his diagnosis would take his freedom, he lived his life to the fullest to the very end. He loved well and will always be well loved in return.
