Simpson Eugene Drake

Simpson Eugene Drake, 81, of Lexington passed away August 9, 2020 at his home. A graveside service will be Wednesday, August 12, 2020 at Lexington Memory Gardens Cemetery at 2:00 pm. Eugene was born April 16, 1939 to Jacob and Dorothy (Parker) Drake in Lexington. He graduated from Lexington High School in 1958. On July 4, 1959 he married Loretta Stricklin in Lexington. He worked as a carpenter. Eugene was a member of Lexington First Baptist Church. He was a good father and husband and enjoyed fishing and hunting.



Survivors include his wife, Loretta, of the home; children, Renee Dile and husband Tony of Richland, Mississippi, Robert Drake and wife Diana of Winchendon, Massachusetts and Tommy Drake and wife Christy of Lexington; grandchildren, Amy Roberts, Kimberly Moss, Charley Dile, Andrew Dile, Evan Drake, Sam Drake, Maia Drake and Leann Drake; great grandchild, Tiffany Horton; and sister Louise Duvall and husband Mike of Lexington. Eugene was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Shirley Drake.
