Sheryl Ann Gott of Lexington passed away February 15, 2021 at her home. There will be a private family service. Memorial may be made to the Lafayette County Cancer Coalition. Sheryl was born January 9, 1956 in Lexington to George Myers and Clara (Strickland) Strain. She graduated from Lexington High School in 1974 and received a Bachelor’s degree in Home Economics with an emphasis in Textiles from Central Missouri State University. She retired after more than 20 years as a tax preparer for Ted Traczewski, CPA. On December 29, 1990 she married Jay Gott in Lexington. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Lexington. Sheryl was an avid reader and enjoyed traveling and spending time with her family and friends.
Survivors include her husband, Jay Gott of the home; mother and step father, Clara and Bill Strain of Apache Junction, Arizona; children Jessi Johnson and husband Derrick of Lexington and Louis Lefholz of Lexington; grandchildren, Cruz and Kenzie Johnson and Katie Tucker; sisters, Joyce Buchanan and husband Steve of Millstadt, Illinois and Robin Emery and husband Robert of Surprise, Arizona; and many nieces and nephews. Sheryl was preceded in death by her father; brother, George Myers; and niece, Lyndsey Meyers.
