Samuel Edward Wagner, 81, Lexington, MO, died peacefully on April 16, 2020, and is now at home with his Heavenly Father.
Sam was born on November 28, 1938, to Everett and Nellie Wagner in Norborne, MO. After his high school graduation, Sam served his country in the Army. In 1962 he was united in marriage to the late Audrey Schmidt. To this union a son, Jeff was born.
On September 11, 1994, he married Bernice (Kelb) Rogers (De) and together they enjoyed camping and traveling in the United States and abroad. Sam also enjoyed watersports, hunting and making new friends.
Sam loved driving trucks and worked for Green Quarries for 38 years, where he was known as "Bigfoot" to his fellow drivers.
Sam was a member of Grace Lutheran Church, Lexington, MO, where he served as an Elder for 20 years and was on the Education Committee.
Besides his wife, Bernice, Sam is survived by his son, Jeff Wagner (Joyce) of Polo, MO, and his sister, Janet Hoddle of Carrollton, MO., along with a niece and nephew. Survivors also include step-daughters, DeAnn Bauman (Larry) of Lee’s Summit, MO, Kathy Harris (Tony) of Jackson, MO and Pam Ackermann (Tim) of Lee’s Summit, MO.
He was also a proud granddad to Catina, Jacob, Loren, Taylor, Zachary, Kaitlyn, Caleb, Aubrey, Emma, Sophie, Connor and great-grandchildren, Lindsey, Garret, and Leah.
A private service will be held on Tuesday, April 21, 2020, at Walker-Nadler-Fuller Funeral Home in Lexington, MO. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Shirkey’s Hospice or Heit’s Point in care of Walker-Nadler-Fuller Funeral Home, 1720 South Street, Lexington, MO 64067, 1-660-259-2245.
