Rose Marie Donald, 89, of Odessa, Missouri passed away on Tuesday, March 26, 2019 in Odessa, Missouri at home.

A Rosary will be recited at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, March 31, 2019 at the Ralph O. Jones Funeral Home, 306 S. 2nd St., Odessa, MO, 64076, 816-633-5524. Visitation will be held from 2:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m., Sunday, March 31, 2019 at the funeral home. A Mass of Christian Burial with Celebrant Bryan Amthor officiating will be held at 9:30 a.m., Monday, April 1, 2019 at St. George Catholic Church, 716 S. 3rd. St., Odessa, MO, 64076. A Rite of Committal will take place at 1:30 p.m., at Mt. Calvary Cemetery in 1011 Desoto Rd., Lansing, KS, 66043. Memorials are suggested to the St. George Altar Society or American Alzheimer’s Association. Rose was born on May 6, 1929 in Leavenworth, KS to Edward Charles Alig, Sr. and Elizabeth (Werner) Alig. She was united in marriage to Phelps M. Donald on September 9, 1949 in Leavenworth, KS. After 64 wonderful years of marriage, Phelps preceded her in death on April 11, 2014. Rose worked for Sam’s Department Store in Raytown for 15 years. She also sold real estate in the Raytown area for many years. She was a member of the St. George Catholic Church and the St. George Altar Society. Rose served as a Girl Scout Leader. In addition to spending time with her family and friends, Rose enjoyed crafts, fishing, gardening and anything outdoors.

Survivors include four children, Joan Henderson and husband Jerry of Edcouch, Texas, Jackie Goodwin and husband Bud, Shawnee, KS, Jean Coy and husband Steven of Warsaw, Indiana and Jill Strauser and husband John of Raytown, MO; 8 grandchildren; Shawne Carroll, Jesse Henderson, Rhiannon Hunt, Angie Karnes, Tommy Goodwin, Latisha White, J.J. Henderson and Chris Coy; 4 step-grandchildren, Julie Bingaman, Chris, Kim, and Danny Strauser; 11 great-grandchildren; one brother, Bob Alig of Leavenworth, KS; one sister, Doris Warford of Medina, Ohio; and many nieces and nephews.
