Rita Jean Crumble, 67, of Lexington, gained her wings on Saturday, February 5, 2022. She was born June 5, 1954 in Kansas City, Missouri to Velva Mae Griffie and Robert C. Jones. She was a little girl full of life and love. Once her mother remarried, she gained a second dad, Grant Hopkins, who remained in her life until her departure. Rita was known for a big heart, beautiful voice and contagious smile. She was a nurse for many years and loved caring for others. Rita was a member of Second Baptist Church for many years and sang in the church choir. She was definitely a soldier for the Lord. Rita loved Gunsmoke, TD Jakes Ministries and WWE. She met the love of her life, Gregory Crumble at the Salvation Army in Columbia, Missouri. The lived together for three years and were married for 22 years. Rita is survived by her children, whom she adored; Theresa J. Martin of Oklahoma, Tommy E. Martin of Texas, Teoyna M Martin of Texas. She has nine grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. She is also survived by her loving husband of 22 years, Gregory Crumble and four beloved siblings, Christopher K. Griffie, Tonya K. Griffie, Grant S. Griffie, Jr. and Melinda Hopkins. Rita extended her loving family when she married Greg. She loved them very much as they loved her! Five sister in laws and one brother in law also survive her, Donna Kelso, Linda Poole, Patricia Crumble, Sharon Brown, Marcia Crumble and William Crumble. Rita was preceded in death by her mother, Velva Mae Griffie; her biological father, Robert C. Jones and her daughter, Marlene Martin. Until we meet again...in the famous loving words of Rita Jean Crumble...in a minute...we love you Rita and you will never be forgotten. Visitation will be Wednesday, February 16, 2022 from 10:00 until 11:00 am at the Second Baptist Church, Lexington. A funeral service will follow at 11:00 am.
