Nola Norine Waye, 89 of Odessa, Missouri passed away on Wednesday, November 1, 2017 at New Haven Living Center in Odessa.
Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, November 22, 2017 at the Brooking Cemetery 10004 E. 53rd St., Raytown, MO, 64133. Nola was born on March 5, 1928 in Kansas City, MO to Oscar C. and Teresa Cain. She graduated in 1944 from Northeast High School in Kansas City, MO. On June 20, 1947 she married Robert LeRoy Waye, Sr. in Kansas City, MO. Nola and Bob lived in Independence, MO for many years prior to moving to Odessa in 1981. Nola and Bob owned and operated Bob’s Small Engine Repair in Odessa for many years until retirement. Nola was a devoted Christian and of the Baptist community since childhood. Throughout the years she was an active member including teaching Sunday school. Nola was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church in Odessa. She volunteered at St. Mary’s Medical Center in Blue Springs, MO for many years. In addition to spending time with family and friends here and in California, Nola enjoyed fishing trips to Minnesota, traveling to Las Vegas for the shows and entertainment, and sitting at her kitchen table drinking coffee and bird watching.
Survivors include a son, Robert L Waye, Jr.; a grandson Robert L. Waye, III and former daughter-in-law Adele Ernsbarger-Waye of Odessa, MO.
In addition to her parents and husband, Nola was preceded in death by an infant child, a brother, Joseph Cain and a sister-in-law, Jeraldine Cain.
