Michael “Mikey” William Sanitate-Rice, 27, of Bates City, Missouri, passed away on Tuesday, January 11th, 2022, at St. Mary’s Medical Center in Blue Springs, MO.

Mikey was born on April 25, 1994, to Michael “Mike” D. Rice and Adriane Sanitate in Overland Park, KS. He graduated from Blue Springs North High School in 2012. In addition to spending time with family and friends, Mikey enjoyed participating in basketball and football with the Special Olympics. He was an avid gamer and played with many friends around the world. Mikey had a heart of gold and will be truly missed by all.
Mikey is survived by his father, Mike, and stepmother, Shelly Rice, of Bates City, MO; his mother, Adriane Sanitate of Palm Coast, FL; paternal grandmother, Judy Bokonich; maternal grandparents, Frank Sanitate and wife, Holly, and Frances Sanitate; step-grandparents, Patricia and Danny Clark; three sisters, Francesca Rice of Palm Coast, FL, Shelly Sanitate-Rice and husband, Jerome, of Overland Park, KS, Christina Sanitate-Rice and husband, James, of Chicago, IL; a brother, Nicholas Sanitate and wife, Marie, of Palm Coast, FL; step siblings, Jordan Schultz, Patricia Elliott and husband, Brian, Elizabeth Schultz, and Connor Schultz; two uncles, Gerald Coleman and wife, Sherri, and Andrew Sanitate and spouse, Steven; two aunts, Lisa Rice and Donna Sanitate; lifelong brothers, Anthony Martinez and Tim Milton; and many nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
Mikey was preceded in death by his uncle, Joe Rice.
