Mayme Elizabeth Ward “Sweetpea”, 88, of Lexington, Missouri, passed away on Friday, January 14, 2022, at Riverbend Heights Health and Rehabilitation, Lexington, MO.

Mayme was born on March 25, 1933, to Thomas and Viola Strickin in Lexington, MO. Mayme attended Lexington High School and continued to Beauty School. She was a hairdresser for many years and later became a Foster Grandparent for Leslie Bell and the Presbyterian Church. Mayme will be remembered for her love of sewing, doing puzzles and spending time with family and friends.
Mayme is survived by a son, Warren Ward; eight grandchildren, Chris Ward, Walter Ward, Brian Ward, Herbie Shroyer, Kendra (Chris) Johnson, Hilary Mason, Regan Ward and Madison Ward; 12 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Loretta Drake of Lexington, MO and Lynette Schwantz of Odessa, MO; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by two children, Mark Ward and Sandra O’Donnell; her parents and siblings.
