Larry Dale Riggs

Larry Dale Riggs, 72, of Lexington, passed away December 20, 2020 at Research Medical Center, Kansas City. The family will host a Celebration of Life Saturday, January 16, 2021 at 1:00 pm at the Moose Lodge 1161, Lexington. Memories and condolences may be left at www.LedfordFamilyFH.com. Larry was born September 26, 1948 in Nevada, MO to Leroy and Hazel (Spainhoward) Riggs. He was a 1966 graduate of Grandview High School, Grandview, Missouri. On June 30, 2001 he married Dawn Henderson in Lexington. He worked as a mechanic for Yellow Freight. Larry was a member of the Moose Lodge 1161. In addition to spending time with family and friends, Larry enjoyed model cars, woodworking and was an avid racecar fan.
Survivors include his wife, Dawn, of the home; children, Sonia Leslie of Harrisonville, David Riggs of Harrisonville, Pete Riggs of Springfield, John Paul of Garden City, Ashley Eads of Garden City, Destiny Day of Lexington, Darren Day of Lexington and Desirea Hurley of North Kansas City; and 15 grandchildren. Larry was preceded in death by his parents, Leroy and Hazel Riggs; and siblings, Darrell Riggs and Katheryne Dahmer.
He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
