    April 24, 1965 - December 16, 2021

    John “Scott” Hackley, 56, of Odessa, Missouri, passed away on Thursday, December 16, 2021, at Overland Park Regional Medical Center in Overland Park, Kansas. A visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., on Sunday, December 19, 2021, at Ralph O. Jones Funeral Home, 306 S. 2nd Street, Odessa, MO, 64076, 816-633-5524. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m., on Monday, December 20, 2021, at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Greenton Cemetery in Odessa, MO. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the family, and may be left in care of the funeral home. Scott was born on April 24, 1965, in Lexington, MO to John William Hackley and Barbara Ann (Loy) Eicholz. He graduated from Odessa High School in 1983. He attended two years at the Lex-La-Ray Vo-Tech Center in Lexington, MO during his junior and senior year. On January 25, 1991, Scott was united in marriage to Janice (Frey) in Odessa, MO. He worked as a tool and die machinist for R&D Leverage. Scott was a member of the NRA. In addition to spending time with family and friends, he enjoyed guns, horses, farming, and deer hunting. Survivors include his wife, Janice, of the home; a son, Charles Bowers of Richmond, MO; two daughters, Christy Collier (Tony) of Odessa, MO and Angel Petty of Lake Havasu City, AZ; four grandchildren, Chelsea Petty, Hunter Mullen, Kevin Cooper, and Jasmine Mullen; a brother, Thomas Hackley (K’Lynn) of Buckner, MO; two step-sisters, Susan Kinnaman (David) of Blue Springs, MO and Lynn Dorrance (Greg) of Blue Springs, MO; two step-brothers, Kenneth Miller of Blue Springs, MO and Todd Jenkins of Slater, MO; an uncle, Doug Loy of Odessa, MO; two aunts, Linda Boutross of Oak Grove, MO and Mary Jean Shehadey of Fresno, CA; two step-mothers, Marilynne Hackley of Blue Springs, MO and Carol King of Odessa, MO; and several nieces, nephews, cousins, family, and friends. Scott was preceded in death by his parents; maternal grandparents; and paternal grandparents.
