    Hazel Maxine Smith

    November 6, 1938 - March 17, 2022

    Hazel Maxine (Bradshaw) Smith, 83, of Warrensburg, Missouri passed away on Thursday, March 17, 2022, at Research Medical Center in Kansas City, Missouri. A visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. on Tuesday, March 22, 2022, at Ralph O. Jones Funeral Home, 306 S. 2nd Street, Odessa, MO, 64076, 816-633-5524. A funeral service will begin at 12:00 p.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home. Interment with military honors will follow at Columbus Christian Church Cemetery in Columbus, MO. Memorials are suggested to Salem Cumberland Presbyterian Church and may be left in care of the funeral home. Hazel was born November 6, 1938, to Charles Alva and Elizabeth Mae (Campbell) Bradshaw in Kansas City, MO. After graduating from Westport High School in Kansas City, MO, she enlisted in the United States Air Force on November 13, 1956, serving her country until honorably discharged on March 20, 1959. Hazel worked for Western Electric for over 30 years, retiring in 1991. She then went to work for Harmon Industrial in Grain Valley for six years. She retired to live her dream as a successful farmer with her best friend Donna Lammers. Hazel was a member of CWA (Communications Workers of America) and the Telephone Pioneers of America. In her spare time, she enjoyed farming and doing ceramics and spending time with family and friends. Hazel will be sorely missed by those who loved her. She goes to a place filled with the everlasting love of God’s good grace. Survivors include her best friend, Donna Lammers, of Warrensburg, MO; several nephews and one niece; and many relatives and friends. Hazel was preceded in death by her parents; and three brothers, Charles Melvin Bradshaw, Donald Ray Dunlap, and Kenneth Edward Bradshaw in infancy.
