George "Cowboy" Garilee Faulkner

George “Cowboy” Garilee Faulkner, 72, of Odessa, Missouri passed away on Thursday September 2, 2021, at Centerpoint Medical Center in Independence, MO.

A visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 11, 2021, at the Ralph O. Jones Funeral Home, 306 S. 2nd St., Odessa, MO, 64076, 816-633-5524. A funeral service will follow at 12:00 p.m. at the funeral home on Saturday, September 11, 2021. Inurnment will follow at a later date. George was born on September 29, 1948, in Independence, MO to Archie Ball and Seeta Joyce (Williams) Faulkner. On June 21, 1968, he married Candace L. Upham in Independence, MO. George owned and operated Faulkner & Son Trucking from 1991 to 2003. He then went on to drive for Chism & Sons Trucking and retired in 2012. George was a member of the Missouri Dump Truckers Association. In addition to spending time with family, George enjoyed hunting, fishing, motorcycles and being with his grandchildren.

Survivors include, Candace Faulkner of Odessa, MO; two children, Tina Faulkner and Vance Faulkner both of Odessa, MO; an adopted son, Davis Duran Fernandez and wife Katherine of Costa Rica; five grandchildren, Nichelle Faulkner, Nicole Riott, Mandalay Faulkner, Jesus Fernandez and Alondra Fernandez; three great-grandchildren, Zayda Faulkner, Nevaeh Faulkner and Eliza Donovan; one god daughter, Gina Meyers Barnett; a sister Gloria Carpenter and husband Chuck of St. Joseph, MO; one brother-in-law, Gary Dean Vanderpool of Independence, MO; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his father, Archie Ball Faulkner; George was preceded in death by his mother and stepfather, Seeta and Alex Coffee; two sisters, Avis Watkins and Sharyn Vanderpool.
