Earl D.E. Struchtemeyer, 95, of Higginsville passed away August 29, 2021 at Meyer Care Center, Higginsville. Visitation will be Friday, September 3, 2021from 10:00 until 11:00 am at Walker-Nadler-Fuller Funeral Home. A funeral service will also be on Friday at the funeral home at 11:00 am. Burial will be in Salem United Church of Christ Cemetery, Higginsville. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital or the Shriner's Hospital.

Earl was born March 27, 1926 in Mayview to Oscar and Carolena "Lena" (Starkebaum) Struchtemeyer. He graduated from Mayview High School. Earl was a lifelong farmer, he milked cows, raised crops and beef cattle. He served in the United States Army. He was a member of Salem United Church of Christ, where he taught Sunday School and served on the church council. He was instrumental in organizing the Public Water Supply District #2 and served on the board. Earl was a member of the Higginsville Rotary, American Legion, John Knox Village East Advisory Board and the Mayview School Board. He enjoyed traveling, especially trips to Branson. He married Grace (Tempel) Struchtemeyer June 29, 1946. After she passed away in 1999, he married Doris (Tobin) Struchtemeyer in 2002. She also preceded him in death.
Survivors include his children, Olin Struchtemeyer (Carla) of Higginsville, Esther Long (Ken) of Lawrence, Kansas, Kathy Hoeppner (Gary) of Lexington; daughters in law, Marilyn Struchtemeyer of Jefferson City and Judy Struchtemeyer of Higginsville; step daughter, Marla Tobin (Ron Bowman) of Warrensburg; grandchildren, Brian Struchtemeyer (Gwen), Melissa McNutt (Joel), Penny Harris, Amy Catron (Johnny Walker), Brandon Struchtemeyer (Abbie), Barrett Struchtemeyer (Amanda), Eric Struchtemeyer (Rosina), Brad Long, Hillary Snell (Nate), Kalie Mais (Aaron), Jamie Liese (Leland); and 19 great grandchildren.
Earl was preceded in death by his parents, his wives; two sons, Ralph and Keith; and two brothers, Leonard and Elmer.
