Daniel Ray Shirk, 72, of Odessa, Missouri passed away on Monday, November 29, 2021, at St. Luke’s Hospice House in Kansas City, Missouri.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Ralph O. Jones Funeral Home, 306 S. 2nd Street, Odessa, MO, 64076, 816-633-5524. Daniel was born on September 15, 1949, to Daniel W. and Glada (MacDonald) Shirk in Independence, MO. After graduating from High School, he enlisted in the United States Navy, serving until honorably discharged on November 14, 1975. On December 22, 1976, Daniel was united in marriage to Claudia (Morgan) in Independence, MO. He was an Electrical Controls Engineer, owning and operating Design and Control Consultants from 1993 until retiring a few years ago. In addition to spending time with family and friends, he enjoyed fishing, hunting, boating, and camping.

Survivors include his wife, Claudia, of the home; four children, Chris Crabtree (Lisa) of St. Louis, MO, D.J. Shirk (Eden) of Wellington, MO, Jason Shirk (Ashley) of Lee’s Summit, MO, and Joan Bauer of Omaha, NE; six grandchildren, Jacob, Christopher, Cainan, Leo, Eli, and Ethan; a sister, Trena Moss (Bill) of Michigan; two brothers, Dave Shirk of Lexington, MO and Kim Shirk (Marisa) of Leander, TX; and many nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.

Daniel was preceded in death by his parents; and a brother, Gary Shirk.
