Charles "Chuck" Howard Kline Jr.

Charles “Chuck” Howard Kline, Jr., 74, of Bates City, Missouri, passed away Friday, April 8, 2022, at their vacation home in Rockport- Fulton, Texas.

Visitation will be held from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., Friday, April 22, 2022, at the Ralph O. Jones Funeral Home, 306 S. 2nd St, Odessa, MO, 64076, 816-633-5524. A funeral service will follow at 12:30 p.m., Friday, April 22, 2022, at the funeral home. Interment with Military Honors will be in the Missouri Veterans Cemetery in Higginsville, MO. Chuck was born on March 1, 1948, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania to Charles Howard Kline, Sr. and Mary Bernadette (O’Hara) Kline. He graduated from Santa Ana High School in Santa Ana, California. He earned his Bachelor of Business Administration Degree from the University of Phoenix and continued working on his master’s degree. Chuck was a Veteran of the United States Army and served in Vietnam with the 5th Special Forces. While serving, Chuck earned the National Defense Service Medal, Parachute Badge, Vietnam Service Medal with two Bronze Service Stars, Combat Infantryman Badge, Army Commendation Medal, and Three Purple Hearts. On December 28, 1991, Chuck was united in marriage to Linda Lee Brinkerhoff in Placerville, CA. He worked for various Telecommunication Companies throughout his life, Chuck retired from Overland Contracting in Overland Park, KS as a Telecommunications National Construction Director. Chuck was Christian by faith. In addition to spending time with family and friends, Chuck enjoyed fishing, riding his Harley, and traveling the world.

Chuck is survived by his wife, Linda Lee Kline of Bates City, MO; five children, Laurie Clipperton and husband Jim of Lee’s Summit, MO, Quinn Charles Kline and wife Mae of Holden, MO, Jennifer Dowell and husband Dean of Raymore, MO, Amy Brammeier and husband Nathan of Vallejo, CA, and Kristi Slipher and husband David of Millington, Tennessee; 18 grandchildren; one sister, Sandy Meller and husband Marvin of Lohman, MO; and many extended family members and friends.

Chuck was preceded in death by his parents.
