Carolyn Anna Ring

Carolyn Anna (Beckman) Ring, 78, of Olathe, Kansas passed away on Thursday, January 30, 2020 at her home.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Thursday, February 6, 2020 at Ralph O. Jones Funeral Home, 306 S. 2nd Street, Odessa, MO 64076, 816-633-5524. Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, February 7, 2020 at the St. Luke Evangelical Free Church, 700 MO-224, Wellington, MO, 64097. Burial will be in the St. Luke Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to Braden’s Hope for Childhood Cancer (bradenshope.org), Be Head Strong, brain cancer organization (beheadstrong.org), or City Union Mission. Carolyn was born on September 15, 1941 on the family farm in Wellington, MO to Armin and Vera (Nieweg) Beckman. After graduating from Wellington High School, she attended Central Missouri State University and received her Bachelor’s Degree in Education. On June 2, 1962 Carolyn was united in marriage to James Edwin “Jim” “Eddie” Ring in Wellington, MO. He preceded her in death. She taught high school home economics and preschool to children with special needs. Carolyn was a member of Nebraska Retired Teachers and Grace United Methodist Church of Olathe, KS. In addition to spending time with family and friends, Carolyn enjoyed sewing, reading, quilting, traveling and volunteering at the Clothing Closet.

Survivors include one daughter, Kristin Anna McMahon and husband, Tom of Leawood, KS; four grandchildren, Macy, Tyler and Brayden Erickson and Harper McMahon; one sister, Roberta Nadler and husband Henry of Olathe, KS; and two nephews, Darin Nadler and wife Amy of Olathe, KS, and Jason Nadler and wife Erin of Overland Park, KS.

In addition to her husband, Carolyn was preceded in death by her parents.
