Carolyn Jean Eastridge

October 8, 1946 — September 7, 2021

Carolyn J. Eastridge passed away on Tuesday, September 7, 2021, at the age of 75. She was born on October 8th, 1946, in Newton, Kansas. On May 6, 1967, she married William "Bill" Eastridge.

The eldest of three siblings, her role as a loving caregiver began early on.
She was a passionate woman who enjoyed life to the fullest and for her, that meant sharing joy and spending time generously with others. She was a famously fabulous hostess who threw elaborate parties at the family farm for Easter and Halloween, warm and cozy Christmas Eve celebrations, and unforgettable birthday parties at her home. She made cakes, sugar cookies, and treats, planned games and made hand drawn invitations, and made everyone feel welcome and very special. She was a generous giver who jumped at any opportunity to volunteer her time and talents or donate to anyone in need. She never wanted anyone to struggle or go without. She was an artist, a sewist, and maker. She would spend hours working in her craft room on home made gifts, clothes, and decorations. She was thoughtful and paid close attention to the special interests of her loved ones to create gifts that everyone treasured. She loved to travel and soaked in every experience of the places she went to. Museums, tours, zoos, live theater and restaurants were her favorite itinerary items. She always ordered dessert and left each location with a new fridge magnet. She loved going to the movies, taking nature walks, and reading to children. She loved deeply and fiercely. She took up her role as mother and grandmother with honor and pride. It was so important to her that everyone knew that regardless of blood relation, she would love you with all that she was, and that was so very much. She adopted countless friends and strangers as family and loved meeting new people. She was funny and deep feeling and had beautiful red hair. Her legacy is built of love and fun. She will be remembered and missed by everyone who knew her.

Carolyn is survived by her children, Lynn Hansen, Michael (Debra) Eastridge, Jacque (Michael) Liese, Cathy (Jeff) McGrath, all of Lexington, MO and Jon (Anna) Eastridge of Davison, Michigan; brothers David (Diana) Lairmore, Springhill, KS, Michael (Donna) Lairmore of Davis, California; sisters, Jenny (Dan) Griessel of Oak Grove, MO; 9 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.

Carolyn was preceded in death by her husband Bill and her parents Jerry and Lueveta Lairmore.
