    Bobby Jack Smith

    February 13, 1939 - April 27, 2022

    Bobby “Bob” Jack Smith, 83, of Lexington, Missouri passed away on Wednesday, April 27, 2022, at home surrounded by family. Visitation will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, May 7, 2022, at the Walker-Nadler-Fuller Funeral Home, 1720 South Street, Lexington, MO, 64067, 660-259-2245. A Celebration of Life will follow at 12:00 p.m., Saturday, May 7, 2022, at the funeral home. Memorials are suggested to the Lexington Elks Lodge #749 or to the Margaret Gray Center. Memories of Bob and condolences for his family may be left at www.LedfordFamilyFH.com or on our Facebook Page. Bob was born on February 13, 1939, in Clarksburg, MO to Harold V. and Mary E. (Rodgers) Smith. He graduated in 1956 from California High School in California, MO. On July 30, 1961, Bob was united in marriage to Alta Mae Schlup in Jamestown, MO. He retired after 42 years of service from United Telephone/Sprint as an Outside Plant Engineer. Bob was a member of the Lexington Elks Lodge #749, Turners Club, and an Honorary Warrior of the Tribe of Mic-O-Say. He volunteered countless hours with meals on wheels and as the bingo caller for the Elks Lodge. In addition to spending time with family and friends, Bob enjoyed his morning coffee at the Margaret Gray Center, traveling, hunting, fishing, woodworking, gardening, canning, but most of all time with his family. Bob was immensely talented in all things and was always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone who needed it. Bob is survived by his wife of 60 years, Alta Smith of Lexington, MO; three children, Glen Alan Smith and wife Betty of Lexington, MO, Amy Lou Smith and husband Doug Ogden of Versailles, MO, and Julie Lynn Hoeflicker and husband Sean of Liberty, MO; five grandchildren, Seth Alan Smith, Andrew Feller and wife Jamee, Cody Feller, Zach Hoeflicker and wife Taylor, and Kaylee West and husband Grant; five great-grandchildren, Chase Smith, Hudson and Penelope Feller, and Huxlee and Renlee Hoeflicker; one brother, Harold Rodgers Smith and wife Alta of Columbia, MO; and many extended family and friends. Bob was preceded in death by his parents. The family would like to thank Preferred Hospice and their staff for the excellent care, kindness and support during Bob’s final weeks.
