Waller "Buck" Small

Waller Nelson "Buck" Small 92, of Odessa, Missouri passed away Monday, December 24, 2012 at home. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, December 29, 2012 at the First Baptist Church in Odessa, MO. Visitation will be from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Friday, December 28, 2012 at the Ralph O. Jones Funeral Home, 306 S. Second St., Odessa, MO, 64076, 816-633-5524. Buck was born on June 2, 1920 in rural Lexington, MO to Oscar Waller and Pauline (Bertz) Small. Buck was married to Leona Elizabeth Small on June 10, 1948 in Kansas City, MO who preceded him in death on July 8, 2009. He was a veteran of the United States Army and served in World War II and earned 3 Bronze Stars for his service. He spent most of his life working as a Dairy Farmer. He was a member of the Odessa V.F.W Post 5675, Odessa American Legion Post 286 and the Knights of Pythias. Buck served on the Lafayette County Rural Water District Board for over 30 years. Buck is survived by two sons, Greg Small of Kemah, Texas, and Gary Small and wife Lisa of Odessa, MO; five grandchildren, Matt Small, Zach Small and wife Tammy, Sara Wessling and husband John, Courtney Small, Chase Small and wife Krysta; five great-grandchildren, Ben Small, Kinison Wessling, Carlin Wessling, Kamden Hooper and Kaysen Small; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents and wife, Buck was preceded in death by one brother and three sisters.
